Love Letters

The following group of 25 letters cover a time span of 9 years, from August 11, 1885, to October 28, 1894.

The first letter is written while the writer (Carl) is in a Minnesota sanatorium in 1885. The next letter is written while he is a sanatorium in Buena Vista Colorado in 1888. He then goes to Denver in 1892, and finally to St. Louis in January, 1893.

The letters are basically love letters with news about events, weather, and friends. There are pressed flowers, a recipe, and a hand painted picture on part of a letter.

The unusual part of these letters is that they are all addressed to Miss Flora Hoffman in St. Louis, but in the letters, Carl refers to her as his WIFE. Even when he is in St. Louis he still writes to her and they live apart.

Interesting set of letters and easy to read.
